5% of tomorrow’s flights from Sabiha Gökçen Airport have been canceled
The operator of Sabiha Gökçen Airport, HEAŞ (Havaalanı işletme ve Havacılık Endüstrileri A.Ş), announced that 5% of the flights scheduled for tomorrow would be canceled due to the decision of the Meteorological Emergency Committee (MADKOM).
Due to the expected adverse weather conditions, it was announced that 5% of the flights at Sabiha Gökçen will be canceled tomorrow.
In a statement on HEAŞ’s social media account, it was said: “Due to the adverse meteorological conditions expected tomorrow, July 26, 2024, a decision was made at the MADKOM meeting. According to the decision taken at MADKOM, 5% of the flights scheduled until 15:00 will be canceled. You can track your flight on the airline’s website and call center.”
SABIHA GOKÇEN AIRPORT
The new terminal building and its extensions at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport feature:
– 128 check-in counters and self check-in kiosks,
– A total of 74 passport control counters for arriving and departing passengers,
– A 9,594 square meter area for restaurants and cafes, serving top brands in the food and beverage sector,
– A 4,500 square meter Duty-Free area, with 3,300 square meters in the departure section and 1,200 square meters in the arrival section, offering a range of domestic and foreign beverages, tobacco products, cosmetics, clothing, textile accessories, and electronic devices,
– Three apron-view Yelken lounges and CIP sections,
– A two-story VIP building connected to the terminal,
– A 400 square meter conference hall,
– A four-story parking lot with a capacity for 4,718 vehicles and 72 buses,
– A 128-room airport hotel,
– A multi-aircraft parking system capable of simultaneously servicing 8 large-bodied (IATA code E) or 16 medium-bodied (IATA code C) aircraft,
– An Explosive Detection System (EDS) baggage screening system.
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen also became Europe’s fastest-growing airport in terms of passenger numbers in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015.
