7.2 million visitors arrive in Turkey in 8 months: Germany leads in front of Russia
The Ministry of culture and Tourism has announced visitor statistics between January-August 2020. According to ministry data, the number of total visitors arriving in the eight-month period of this year is not much larger than the number of those arriving in August alone last year.
The number of visitors to Turkey in August last year was 6.3 million while the total visitors in the first eight months of this year was 7.2 million.
In the eight-month period of current year, 789 thousand people came from Germany and 772 thousand people from Russia. According to this, in the distribution of arrivals by country in eight months, Germany ranks first with more than 17 thousand people from Russia.
Germany was in second place with 3.3 million, while arrivals from Russia in eight months last year were 4.8 million.
Ukraine is in the 3rd place 3 with 520 thousand people and UK is in the fourth place with 465 thousand. France follows with 207 thousand and the Netherlands ranks 6th with 195 thousand tourists. (TG)
