ASTRA ZENECA VACCINE SUSPENDED

9 European Union (EU) member countries have announced that they have suspended the use of Covid-19 vaccine, developed by Oxford University and AstraZeneca in the UK, due to suspected blood clotting.

After a nurse in Austria died of a blood clot shortly after receiving the AstraZeneca vaccine, the use of AstraZeneca vaccine in Italy, Austria, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Iceland was stopped.

Denmark announced the suspension of use of the vaccine following reports of “serious cases of blood clots” among people receiving the vaccine, saying the move was “for precautionary purposes.” The Danish Health Ministry said authorities were investigating whether there was a link between the vaccine and blood clots.
