PM Erdoğan says cease fire in Gaza underway

Prior to his departure on an official visit to Pakistan Prime Minister Erdoğan made a statement about the conflict going on in Gaza currently.

He explained that Turkey was doing everything to to contribute and he hoped they would yield the desired result adding a cease-fire was imminent.

Erdoğan also reminded that Israel was continuing to strike ruthlessly and the hope was something favorable would come out today, based on the efforts so far.

When asked about relations between Turkey and Israel he said Turkey had no contact with Israel and would not do so either unless something extraordinary turned up. The PM and underlined there were many mechanisms operating at this point the secret intelligence service to be among them, adding such services needed to be uninterrupted, in principle.

Erdoğan also said Turkey had recalled its ambassador but the Turkish consulate was still operational and certain connections were still working.
