Istanbul Municipality starts transportation by electric vehicles in Princess Island, in Istanbul

After the removal of horse-drawn carriages in Büyükada, Istanbul, the Municipality has started transportation services by electric vehicles. A total of 40 vehicles have started serving on the island with following breakdown; 40 vehicles 13 + 1 persons, 20 vehicles for 3+1 person. 

According to the tariff set by the Directorate of Transport Coordination (UKOME), Adakart owners will pay TL 3.50 to travel by electric vehicles, for 13 people. Passengers who do not have Adakart and will use Istanbulkart will pay a fee of TL 12.

As for ADA TAXIS, the fare for residents of the island will be TL 5 for opening and TL 3.10 per kilometer. For tourists, the opening fee was set at TL 15 and the fee per kilometer was set at TL 12.

The electric vehicles, which can carry 13 passengers, can travel a range of 40 kilometers. The vehicles also have a 20-degree climbing angle when loaded. The charging time of the vehicles, which can make a maximum speed of 25 kilometers, is 9 hours.
