A joint decision from NATO and the EU: It’s time

NATO and the European Union (EU) intend to publish a new joint statement that will emphasize security cooperation.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen met at the EU Commission building in Brussels Dec. After the meeting, a joint statement was made on social media.
According to the statement, the meeting discussed Russia’s incursion into Ukraine and increasing support for Ukraine.
“IT’S TIME”
The statement said, “NATO-EU cooperation contributes to security and stability. That is why we believe that the time has come to agree on a new joint statement that will move our partnership forward.”
NATO and the EU had issued joint statements in 2016 and 2018 as well, stressing the importance of cooperation.
