A new record in producer inflation

PRODUCTION IN TURKEY

According to TURKSTAT data, the domestic producer price index (YPI) increased by 132.16 percent annually and 8.76 percent monthly in May. The annual increase was the fastest recorded since March 1995.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the domestic producer price index (YI-PPI) for May 2022.

Accordingly, PPI increased by 8.76 percent in May 2022 compared to the previous month, by 51.43 percent compared to December of the previous year, by 132.16 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and by 80.38 percent compared to the twelve-month averages.

Thus, the annual increase in question was the fastest recorded since 1995.
