A very harsh reaction from opposition to Erdogan’s “rotten and slut words”

President Erdogan’s statement using words such as “These are rotten, these are sluts” when referring to activists in Gezi protests in July 2013 attracted great reaction from opposition.

Speaking at today’s group meeting of his party, President and AKP Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan, recalling the events of the trip, said: “9 years ago, the spark that coincided with the pretext of a tree suddenly turned into an attempt. These bandits, these terrorists have almost polluted the inside of mosques. They’re like this, they’re rotten, they’re slutty.”

While the President’s words caused outrage, there was a very strong reaction from the Republican People’s Party.
