The ruling AK PARTI held its general congress in Ankara on Sept 30th. PM Tayyip Erdoğan made an impressive speech and the organization which was attended by foreign politicians (mainly from ME) as well was a true success.

However, to cast a shadow over this performance an unpleasant situation was exercised by the ruling party.

Some newspapers were not granted accreditation to monitor the convention.

Many opinion leaders criticized AK Parti and especially some from the management for denying those media establishments the permission to follow the event.

To be even worse a top person within the party commented that those newspapers often displayed a very hostile approach towards their party and it was their usual practice to publish false news to against their party and thus the negative feelings within Ak Parti should be taken into consideration when evaluating the situation.

The point here is this comment was made by a top person within a party claiming to have brought advanced democracy to Turkey. Moreover, the leader of AK Parti has often expressed that they are to embrace the whole of Turkey without exception and regardless of religion, political opinion etc..

This undesired situation was among the top topics on Twitter and criticized by many people as well as opinion leaders.
