Belgian Crown Prince Philippe to visit Turkey on October 15th

Among the countries least affected by the euro zone crisis, Belgium has set its eyes on the growing economies in different geographies.

That is why Belgian Crown Prince Philippe accompanied by Princess Mathilda and a large group of ministers, businessmen and journalists is coming to Turkey.

The Crown Prince’s visit between October 15- 19 to Istanbul and Ankara will also see the convening of the Turkey-Belgium Business Council.

Prince Philippe will meet President Abdullah Gül and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Belgians will concentrate on the possibilities of embarking upon cooperation with Turkey in the fields of information and communication technologies, renewable energy, environmental technology, logistics, transport as well construction and infra-structure.

Cooperation with the third countries in the Middle East and Africa will also be on the Belgian delegation’s agenda to discuss with Turkish officials.

The trade volume between Turkey and Belgium, where 200 thousand Turks are resident, is about 8 billion euros.

Prince Philippe will also meet Interior Minister İdris Naim Şahin and will exchange views on Belgim’sexperience of e-state.

Moreover, the Foreign, Justice and Interior Ministers of both countries are planning to hold a joint meeting in Belgium at the end of the year.
