After cabinet meeting, President Erdogan shares new decisions on those not vaccinated

PRESIDENT ERDOGAN ANNOUNCES NEW COVID-19 MEASURES

After a cabinet meeting in which issues like increasing cases of corona virus and face-to-face education long awaited by millions of students, were discussed President Erdogan said that schools would start on September 6.

On the other hand, a new period has started in the epidemic process. From now on, those who are not vaccinated will be asked for mandatory PCR testing on flights, intercity bus travel, concerts, theaters and cinemas.

The presidential cabinet met with the epidemic agenda. The main agenda items of the meeting, which lasted 5 hours and 20 minutes, consisted of increased corona cases and face-to-face education. After the meeting, President Erdogan, who was in front of the cameras, announced that the schools would start on September 6.

Erdogan said “with the start of face-to-face training in schools on September 6, we will ask teachers and other staff who are in contact with students but have not yet been vaccinated to take a PCR test at least 2 times a week. We will also ask our university students and university employees who are not vaccinated to take regular PCR tests” he said.

DOMESTIC VACCINE

Erdogan said that they aimed to move to the widespread use and production phase by the end of the year in domestic vaccine development studies. He added that the total number of vaccines had surpassed 87 million in total number of vaccinations, 46 million in the first dose and about 35 million in the second dose. He also noted that the third dose of vaccines continued rapidly, already reaching 7 million

Erdogan who said that there were still anti-vaxxers, noting there was no method of prevention other than the vaccine. He said “Our ability to live in peace depends on all of us getting vaccinated and completing our vaccines.”
