PAKISTAN QUITS BUYING ATAK HELICOPTERS(1)

Pakistan has announced that it has quit plans to buy 30 T129 ATTACK Attack Helicopters from Turkey. Earlier it had announced that it would purchase said helicopters from Turkey, in 2018. It was stated that the cancellation was due to the delay while the US barrier is also cited as the reason for the delay. Pakistan is said to have started negotiation with China for the purchase of armed helicopters after the cancellation.

The cancellation decision announced by Pakistan’s Armed Forces Spokesman Babar Iftikhar was as follows: “We have left the agreement with Turkey. There was talk of Chinese negotiations, yes. Hopefully we will get armed helicopters from them.”
