The execution of the ÇED (Environmental Impact Assessment) report prepared for the ‘tourism village’ project of 30 thousand people, which Akdeniz Construction, owned by Ali Ağaoğlu, plans to build on the coast of Mandalya Bay between Bodrum and Milas, was stopped by the court.

COMMITMENTS IN ÇED REPORT WILL BE REVISED

According to court’s decision the statement issued emphasized that the commitments in the ÇED report should be revised after this review, “Considering that some areas left unregistered in the light of new data that may arise, may acquire the status of a sit, the Final ÇED Report, which does not contain these issues, contains shortcomings. Also, it is seen that the need for domestic water will be obtained by purifying seawater, but since it is not specified how to dispose of the waste generated by chemical washing of membranes with the intense salt water concentration formed as a result of reverse osmosis, and from which point it will be delivered to the receiving environment, compliance with the law has not been observed in the transaction subject to the lawsuit.”

WHAT’S IN THE PROJECT?

With the project, 4,454,395 square meters of an area of 9,700,000 square meters are being opened for construction. 3,683 houses consisting of 25 parts, Golf Hotel with 230 rooms, 505-room spa hotel, 255 rooms apart facility and the 510-room grand hotel project also covering the six daily facilities, two golf courses, six business centers, parking lots, swimming pools, water games areas, shopping centers, gyms, health facilities, such as schools and dozens of buildings and facilities will be built. There are also 8 artificial lakes in the project. It is planned that at least 16 thousand people will live here.
