Akkayalar travertines in Bolu become center of attraction just like Pamukkale travertines

Akkayalar travertines, which have a length of 250 meters and a height of 40 meters, are used for both cooling and healing and contain 2 pools. They are also preferred by those who want to picnic because of its location in the forest. It is aimed to make Akkayalar travertine where citizens with skin diseases such as psoriasis and eczema seek healing, one of the most beautiful places in Turkey with some projects that are expected to be carried out and supported by the state.

A private company rented the region in 2012 and they have been working here for about 7-8 years. The company official has said a systematic irrigation process is carried out in order to ensure re-whitening of said travertines. The administration put the pool in order first and they took out about 150 truck load of mud from the pool. It was brought to a level where it could keep clean water

Water reaches every point of the travertine. Other than that, the management cuts off the water in sunny weather to get the sun and let it dry. Also, they strive to create new travertine masses. (13.08.2020)
