EARLY ELECTION TURKEY

AK Party and its partner MHP are committed to early elections. According to the AKP’s official on electoral affairs, the elections may be held on April 30 or May 14. A veteran journalist said there was no indecision with the AKP and MHP about holding the election ahead of time, adding an early election would be held with the decision of President Tayyip Erdogan, even if the opposition did not support it in Parliament.

Considering the constitutional proposal that the AKP wants to pass, Sarıkaya reminded that AKP Group Deputy Chairman Özlem Zengin had announced they aimed to pass the proposal at the Parliament towards the end of February.

According to the journalist, if it passes at the end of February and results in a referendum, the ballot box should be brought at the end of April.
