Ankara-Diyarbakır touristic train starts operating

The Ankara-Diyarbakır touristic train has commenced regular services after its inaugural journey from the Historic Ankara Station. The first departure from Ankara took place at 15:55, and it was expected to depart from Diyarbakır on Sunday, April 21st at 12:00.

It will depart from Ankara every Friday

Operating between April 19th, 2024, and June 14th, 2024, with departures from Ankara on Fridays, and between April 21st, 2024, and June 16th, 2024, with departures from Diyarbakır on Sundays, the Ankara-Diyarbakır touristic train will serve passengers.

The Ankara-Diyarbakır touristic train, which runs on a 1051-kilometer route, consists of 180-passenger capacity, 9-bed, and 1-dining carriages

During the Ankara-Diyarbakır route, there are planned stops of 3 hours in Malatya, and during the Diyarbakır-Ankara route, a 4-hour stop in Yolçatı and a 3-hour stop in Kayseri for tourism purposes. This will provide passengers with the opportunity to see the historical and cultural values ​​of these areas.

Touristic train services will not only revitalize the regional economy but also strengthen cultural communication between cities, serving not just as a means of transportation but also as a cultural bridge.
