Meteorology announcement: Showers expected in many cities including Istanbul

METEOROLOGY-TURKEY

The General Directorate of Meteorology has released today’s weather forecast. Accordingly, it is predicted that the weather will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy in Turkey, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Middle and Eastern Taurus Mountains, Inner Anatolia (Eskişehir), the inland regions of the Middle and Eastern Black Sea, as well as Istanbul, Yalova, Sakarya, Kocaeli, Osmaniye, Kahramanmaraş, Kastamonu, Karabük, Bolu, Düzce, Erzurum, Erzincan, Malatya, Adıyaman, Gaziantep, and Kilis. Dust transport is expected in the Inner Anatolia region.

TEMPERATURE: Temperatures are expected to be around seasonal norms along the Marmara, Northern Aegean, and Black Sea coasts, while remaining above seasonal norms in other regions.

WIND: Light to occasionally moderate winds are expected from the north.

WARNINGS

DUST TRANSPORT WARNING: Due to the expected dust transport in Inner Anatolia, precautions should be taken against possible reductions in visibility, decreases in air quality, and transportation disruptions.

REGIONAL WEATHER – MARMARA

Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy with local showers and thunderstorms expected in Istanbul, Yalova, Sakarya, and Kocaeli after midnight.

AEGEAN – It is predicted to be partly cloudy. IZMIR 25 partly cloudy with few clouds. FETHIYE 23°C partly cloudy

MEDITERRANEAN – Partly cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in the Taurus Mountains region of the Eastern and Central Mediterranean, as well as Kahramanmaraş and Osmaniye in the afternoon. ANTALYA 25 partly cloudy with few clouds

INNER ANATOLIA – Partly to mostly cloudy with local showers and thunderstorms expected in the region (except Eskişehir). Dust transport is expected in some areas.

WESTERN BLACK SEA – Partly to mostly cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in Kastamonu, Karabük, Bolu, and Düzce.

MIDDLE AND EASTERN BLACK SEA – Partly to mostly cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in the inner regions of the area.

EASTERN ANATOLIA – Partly to mostly cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in Erzurum, Erzincan, and Malatya in the afternoon.

SOUTH EASTERN ANATOLIA – Partly to mostly cloudy, with local showers and thunderstorms expected in Adıyaman, Gaziantep, and Kilis in the afternoon.
