Announcement from Turkish Airlines: China flights halted until 9 February 2020

Turkish Airlines (Turkish Airlines) press advisor has informed that the company has stopped flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xian cities in China until February 9 reported.

The statement said, “We are stopping our flights to Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xian cities until February 9 in order to evaluate the coronavirus-induced situation and the latest developments with national and international authorities. We will continue to update you”.

Experts have confirmed that the coronavirus which originated in Wuhan city and also known as 2019-nCoV, is transmitted to humans from animals, particularly bats. It is reported that the virus has raised alarm globally with many cases reported across Asia, Europe, the U.S. and Canada.

Travelers from China are being screened for the virus at airports worldwide and several airlines have suspended flights to Wuhan.
