QUORA QUESTION: Aside from Erdogan claiming Jerusalem, has Turkey replaced Iran as the biggest threat to Israel & the Arab world?

ANSWER: Interesting question – Looking at the most recent development in the region, one could no doubt reach such a decision.

However, despite the current picture as it looks today, Turkey and Israel are not very likely to become enemies for a long period except for occasional situations. This is what we have lived through to experience for many decades.

Iran on the other hand is a very strong threat for Israel and has been so for ages, as we know. Moreover, it is very unlikely this situation could change in the future either. The issue with Iran and Israel originates from the regime adopted by Iran and fundamentalist Islam administration – which is not very likely to change anyways.

Turkey on the other hand, administered by a pro-Islam government for almost 2 decades seems to have had a bad relation with Israel during this period. However, on the other hand we know (as informed by several reports) business relations between two countries have continued without interruption and all. Quite interesting, is it not?

It is not very likely that the inconsistent relations between Turkey and Israel (as well as the USA) will remain this unpleasant after current pro-Islamic administration leaves office which is a quite possible situation at first elections to come in 2023.
