Banks Association of Turkey: “CBRT Chairperson Erkan said monetary tightening process had started”

A statement was made by the Banks Association of Turkey regarding the meeting with CBRT (Central Bank of Turkey) President Hafize Gaye Erkan. In the statement, it was quoted Erkan had stated that the monetary tightening process was started for the establishment of disinflation as soon as possible.

Banks Association of Turkey released a statement after a meeting bank executives had with Hafize Gaye Erkan, the president of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey.

CBRT Chairperson Ms. Erkan stated that the monetary tightening process was started to establish disinflation as soon as possible and expressed confidence that all economic actors would take a determined stance on fulfilling their duties until a significant improvement in the inflation outlook was achieved.
