Based on data by tourist authority 6,376,000 tourists visited Istanbul in 5 months

Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism has announced the visitor data for May.

According to the data of Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, the number of visitors to the city in May increased by 7.39 percent compared to the same period of 2022 and reached 1 million 505 thousand.

During January May period, 6 million 376 thousand people visited the city with an increase of 18.77 percent.

Among the foreign visitors to Istanbul in May, Russia took the first place with 176 thousand people. It was followed by Germany with 117 thousand, USA with 83 thousand, Iran with 80 thousand, Great Britain with 68 thousand, France with 63 thousand, Saudi Arabia with 60 thousand, Israel with 38 thousand and Uzbekistan and Italy with 32 thousand.
