Selçuk is a a historical region in the Turkish Aegean with touristic spots such as Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary aand St. Jean church. The location of world famous Artemis temple is nearby, on the way to Ephesus. The town is famous for its traditional handicraft work including oriental hand made carpets.
The inhabitants are very modern and friendly people. Blue-flag Pamucak beach, 7 km from Selçuk with many summer houses is 5 km long and offers a perfect swimmimg opportunity to visitors.
SELÇUK is a very lively place to live and it attracts plenty of foreign visitors year round, and especially in the summer time.Thus, real estate market is very active in Selçuk as well and it is very recommendable to buy and sell property in this region. The hills are covered with olive groves and vineyards, and fringed by pine forest. The inhabitants make wine and olive oil. They produce some of the best peaches in the land.
After tourism sector has got to know the place closer, the main Street has transformed into souvenir-alley. On weekends the place will possibly be overcrowded.
There are aquite a few restaurants, several cafes, plenty of souvenir spots, some groceries, barber shops. You can also find a health clinic here. The nearest town is Selçuk -8 kms down the hill- where you can find almost everything. There are minibuses running every half hour.
