Big hike in diesel prices: Double digits seen

According to announcement made by EPGIS The liter price of diesel will be raised by 66 kurus starting tonight. As a result of the depreciation of the Turkish lira and the increase in oil prices, double digits will be seen for the first time in the index. In the last two months, diesel prices have been increased by 37 percent.

The rise in the dollar exchange rate and oil prices continue to cause major hikes in oil prices.

Thus, the price per liter of diesel will increase approximately from 9.39 TL to 10.05 TL in Ankara, from 9.33 TL to 9.99 TL in Istanbul and from 9.41 TL to 10.07 TL in Izmir. Diesel price was reduced by 44 kurus, last on December 1.

Between October 7-December 7, the price per liter of diesel oil increased by about 2.70 TL. The proportional increase was 37 percent.
