Türeci and Şahin are moving the world-famous pharmaceutical company Biontech based in Mainz from Germany to Britain for cancer research, as reported on media. Drug development is progressing faster in Britain, where legal regulations work in cooperation with companies.

Özlem Türeci said, “it will be very important to create contemporary and mission-oriented conditions in various fields in the future,” and drew attention to the importance of putting research into practice quickly.

BioNTech gained worldwide recognition with the Covid-19 vaccine, which it produced jointly with the US Pfizer company.
