It is very normal that people want to have fun when they go on vacation in the summer. So they like to do activities such as swimming, walking around, dancing to music and having a drink while listening to music, etc. However this motivation can often be a source of discomfort, especially in crowded resorts. For example, Bodrum Municipality receives many complaints about this issue in summers, particularly.

Accordingly the Municipality of Bodrum municipality has decided to take action to prevent concerned business owners from disturbing residents in the town. The Municipality has divided the region into two categories, namely “quiet places” and “entertainment places”. Bars in “quiet” areas will not be able to perform music outdoors after 23:59 each night. Venues in the “entertainment” area however will be allowed to broadcast music in the open air until 04: 00 at night.

In this case, nightclubs in areas close to residential areas or in quite areas with restaurants will be able to continue plating loud music after 23.59 pm only if the place is closed and sound-insulated.

In venues located at places designated as entertainment zones, music will be broadcast outdoors until 04:00. Based on the information provided by an employee from the municipality, about 1500 complaints were received, in 2019.

Accordingly, the municipality has decided that Central Bar Street in Bodrum as well as the bar street in Gumbet will serve as entertainment areas. On the other hand Gümüşlük and Bitez will be quiet areas.
