Bodrum welcomes the largest cruise ship in its history
Bodrum Cruise Port, the world’s largest cruise port operator, hosted the largest passenger Odyssey of the Seas in the history of Bodrum on Thursday August, 25th.
Bodrum, one of the cruise destinations whose star is shining rapidly, hosted “Odyssey of the Seas” one of the newest cruise ships of the Royal Caribbean fleet. The ship, which is among the largest ships in the world and brings American, British and German 3693 passengers mostly, made its first voyage to Bodrum.
While most of the disembarking passengers visited Bodrum bazaar on foot, about 1000 passengers also moved by tour buses to go to Bodrum Castle and ruins.
The director of Eastern Mediterranean Ports at Global Ports Holding, said that Bodrum Cruise Port had hosted a ship of this size for the first time in its history in cruise tourism, where the ship sizes and capacities are increasing day by day. He said, “We will see big ships like Odyssey of the Seas, which we will see twice in Bodrum this year, and we will be seeing more of them in Bodrum waters starting next year. Bodrum is rapidly progressing towards becoming a very important cruise tourism destination.”
