BOZBURUN GENERAL PICTURE

Located 50 km away from Marmaris in a quiet and peaceful environment where one can comfort their mind and find serenity, Bozburun is truly a paradise. Situated at the tip of the Bozburun Peninsula and considered a district of Marmaris, Bozburun is the favorite destination for those who seek a genuine holiday experience with its crystal-clear sea, fragrant breeze scented with thyme, and pristine beaches.

Bozburun is renowned as the birthplace of traditional wooden gulets, which are popular for cruising along the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts. As the name suggests, the slopes and hillsides of Bozburun are bare and rocky, yet the other beauties of the region compensate for this lack.

SURROUNDING BAYS, SWIMMING IN COVES & GRILLING FISH ON BARBECUE

Visitors to Bozburun often spend their days on boat tours, exploring the surrounding bays, swimming in the coves, and grilling fish on the barbecue. Due to its proximity to the Greek island of Symi, many yachts from both local and international tourists can be seen approaching Bozburun from the sea.

LIFE IN BOZBURUN

Upon reaching the center of Bozburun, visitors can follow the coastal road lined with guesthouses and pensions. All accommodation options can be found along this route. On the seaside of the coastal strip, there are usually sun loungers belonging to pensions and a few tables for restaurants for those who want to swim in the sea. Since there is no traffic, evening walks during sunset are quite enjoyable.

People who dine during sunset usually head to the seaside restaurants. Some families prefer to dine on boats. Generally, there are no children’s screams or hustle and bustle, as there are no discos, making for a peaceful life.

FEW HOURS OF SLEEP ENOUGH DUE TO ZERO HUMIDITY

In Bozburun, where the humidity is close to zero, a few hours of sleep are sufficient, and people often feel refreshed in the mornings. For those staying in guesthouses, it only takes about 50 steps from their rooms to reach the sea.

Along the coastal strip of Bozburun, especially near the center and around the harbor, there are souvenir shops, restaurants, markets, and stores that cater to the needs of yachts such as ropes, hoses, and spare parts. Outside of Bozburun, there are a few shipyards specializing in custom-made gulets and other types of boats.

DAILY BOAT TOURS

Setting sail in the morning, these boats offer a sea view of Bozburun and return passengers to their starting point in the evening. Boat tours usually include meals and last until around 6:00 pm, making six stops along the way. During the journey, numerous yachts and boats anchored in the coves can be observed. Each stop allows for a half-hour swimming break in the unbelievably beautiful waters.
