The Muğla Governorship has issued a decision requiring the installation of cameras in hotels, motels, hostels, and entertainment venues. The decision requires that the security cameras to be installed must cover all entrances and exits of the premises, including any parking areas if present.
In the decision made on August 13 by the Muğla Governorship, following was shared; “It has been observed that incidents of theft, fraud, fights, injuries, and even fatalities have occurred in public rest and entertainment venues within the Muğla region, which are subject to the supervision of the general law enforcement. These incidents have endangered the safety of life and property for our citizens. The installation of security cameras in these establishments aims to prevent and illuminate crimes that may occur in public places.”
The decision requires that the security cameras to be installed must cover all entrances and exits of the premises, including any parking areas if present. The security camera systems must have sufficient resolution, night vision capabilities, and the ability to record uninterruptedly. Additionally, it should be possible to easily access archived footage by entering the date and time.
The installation of the security camera systems must be completed by February 13, 2025, from the date of the decision on August 13. It is mandatory for establishments such as hotels, motels, hostels, and bars, casinos, pubs, and cafés, particularly those with an area larger than 40 square meters, to install security cameras. Those who fail to comply will be subject to administrative fines under the relevant articles of the Misdemeanors Law.
