Chairlift failure in Kartepe: Citizens couldn’t stand the cold and jumped off

Citizens were stranded for 1 hour due to a chairlift failure in Kartepe, the important ski resort of Kocaeli. Some of the citizens who had been waiting on the chairlift for a long time could not stand the cold weather and jumped down the chairlift.

Citizens vacationing in the Kartepe district of Kocaeli, which is famous for its winter tourism, were stranded for about 1 hour due to a malfunction of the chairlift. Some of the citizens who could not resist the cold due to the fact that the malfunction could not be fixed immediately, got away by jumping off the chairlift. After 1 hour, the malfunction was fixed and other stranded citizens were also rescued.

One of the citizens who announced their situation with his shares on social media said, “The chairlifts have not been working for 1 hour. We’re freezing right now. People started jumping down from the chairlift. We’re in a terrible state, we’re cold. We’re going into hypothermia soon,” he said. Another resident said: “We are stranded on the deer field track. We’ve been here about 45 minutes. We are very cold. My friend just jumped down.”
