Chaos in the air! All flights were stopped

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the US civil aviation authority, has announced that all domestic flights had been stopped due to a technical malfunction in the flight control system (NOTAMS). The White House announced that President Joe Biden had been briefed.

In a statement, the FAA stated that it had stopped all domestic flights due to a technical malfunction in NOTAMS and said, “The FAA is working to restore NOTAMS. We are doing the final verification checks and reinstalling the system now. Operations in the National Airspace System are being affected.”

The FAA updated its announcements and announced that some parts of NOTAMS had been activated and that departures from Newark and Atlanta airports had started.

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “The president was briefed by the Secretary of Transportation about the FAA system outage this morning. There is no evidence of a cyber attack at this point.”.
