TURKISH FOREIGN AFFAIRS MINISTRY

Sharing their evaluations over President Erdogan’s statement that he had given instructions to declare 10 diplomats persona non grata, Turkey’s former diplomats said this would not be a wise path to follow.

THE CONSEQUENCES WOULD BE VERY SEVERE FOR TURKEY

Expressing his assessments of the ambassador crisis, Unal CEVIKOZ (former diplomat) said, “The consequences of this would be heavy for Turkey. In such case, our ambassadors in those countries will also  be declared persona non grata. The countries in question are all big countries, such as Sweden, Canada, Germany, France. Of course, this will be the reciprocity of the steps to be taken. Reciprocity will also lead to developments that would have a very serious negative impact on Turkey when it is implemented.”  (Source: halktv.com.tr/gundem/diplomatlar-buyukelci-krizini-degerlendirdi-izolasyon-diplomasisi-476910h )
