Corendon Airlines, which transports passengers from Europe to various tourism destinations, primarily Turkey, increased its number of passengers by 10% compared to last year.

Yıldıray Karaer, Chairman of the Board and General Manager of Corendon Airlines, stated that they were ready for the 2024 tourism season with 35 aircraft serving Turkey, the Netherlands, and Malta.

Karaer said, “The 2024 season looks promising. The recovery in the sector continues after the pandemic. By increasing our capacity by 10% compared to last year, we will carry 6 million passengers to both our country and important tourism destinations.”

Costs are rising

Yıldıray Karaer emphasized the continuous increase in costs in the aviation sector and highlighted the shortage of pilots in the industry. Karaer stated the following:

“Costs are increasing in all sectors, especially in aviation. Although the number of aircraft in the sector is increasing, there is a shortage of pilots. Initiatives to reduce carbon footprint in Europe, such as the Green Deal, significantly increase costs in European airspace.”
