Cost of living for a 4 member family in Istanbul reaches 20 thousand liras per month

According to the price analysis of the Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA) on selected products, the cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul in May increased by 7.78 percent compared to the previous month to 19,950 TL.

March April May report or the survey about cost of living in Istanbul was published by IPA Istanbul, affiliated to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. According to the change rates in May, the cost of living in Istanbul increased by 86.02 percent annually.

In May, the average cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul was measured at 19 thousand 950 TL per month. The cost of living increased by 1440 TL compared to April.

TEA PRICES HIT THE TOP

One of the most striking price changes in May compared to last month was seen in tea and its derivatives, which reached 30 percent. Tea was followed by oral and dental care products with a 22 percent increase, while yogurt prices also increased by 15 percent. The price of meat and minced meat also increased by 15 percent.
