Survey: 73 percent of Turkish citizens want to live in a secular country

In a research conducted by MetroPOLL survey company, 72.9 percent gave “secular-democratic answer” to the question ”What kind of country do you want to live in”, while 18.5 percent said they wanted to live in a conservative-authoritarian country.

In the April 2022 survey of the Pulse of Turkey, 8.5 percent of respondents did not answer this question.

The survey also included responses from party voters.

According to this, 57.8 percent of AKP voters responded “Secular-democratic”, 31.3 percent “Conservative-Authoritarian”, 11 percent “I have no idea / no answer”.

74.5% of MHP voters said “Secular-democratic”, 18.6% said “Conservative-Authoritarian”, 6.8% said “I have no idea/no answer”.

90.1 percent of CHP voters, 78.5 percent of GOOD Party voters, 72.7 percent of HDP voters, 78.1 percent of Felicity Party voters, 77.8 percent of DEVA voters said they wanted to live in a “Secular-democratic” country.
