Could Russia invade Ukraine? Warning from the US to Europe

It has been reported that the United States has alerted the European Union after Russia sent a large number of troops and ammunition to the Ukrainian border. Speaking to press, some sources said that US officials had updated EU officials on the latest developments and are closely monitoring the region.

The US officials said, “It is possible that Moscow may invade Ukraine while the refugee crisis and energy crisis with EU countries continue”, adding that Russia has recently focused on the possibility of conducting military operations in Ukraine. It was noted that the United States had shared some documents with the European Union as well.

A White House official also announced that they were closely monitoring what was happening in the region.

Russia, on the other hand, blamed the United States, saying that what happened with Ukraine was its internal affairs. Russian officials claimed that the United States was provoking by sending warships to the Black Sea.

Russia’s recent deployment of troops to the Ukrainian border had raised tensions. German Chancellor Merkel met with Russian leader Putin yesterday on which occasion the Russian President explained that use of armed drones by Ukraine violated the agreements, while the US military mobility in the Black Sea also created discomfort.
