MINIMUM WAGE WORKERS TURKEY

A deputy, head of economic and financial policies of DEVA Party has said that the minimum wage has gone down to below US$ 283 after the dollar exchange rate exceeded 10 pounds, adding: “The minimum wage in Turkey has fallen behind even countries called cheap labor paradise, such as China.”

The dollar exchange rate exceeded the historical peak of 10 TL for the first time after the markets closed last night. During this year, the depreciation of the TL against the dollar has reached 25 percent.

Same deputy also shared following evaluations; “The unhealthy approach of asking ‘Are you earning your wages in dollars’ (once voiced by a former finance minister) does not realize how the costs of discrediting our money is and what a heavy cost our nation has to pay because of this. Even if they are aware of it it, they obviously don’t care about it.”

With the increase in the exchange rate, inflation expectations will become much worse. All prices from needle to thread will be reflected, the exchange rates are reflected. Poverty will become deeper and more widespread with the cost of living and inflation.

Now this government hopes that by impoverishing our people, selling our nation’s sweat and labor cheaply to the outside, it will provide an increase in prosperity, an increase in income. This government has fallen into such a grave mistake. We want to voice from here again. The increase in exports and prosperity is possible only with efficiency, innovation, predictable, stable and reputable national money.”
