Do Seniors Over 65 Need a Health Report for Title Deeds?

Recently, some media outlets suggested that citizens over the age of 65 are routinely required to submit a health report when carrying out title deed transactions. The General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre stepped in to clarify that these claims are not true.

According to their official statement shared on social media, between October 1 and 2 there were 9,224 applications from citizens aged 65 and above. Out of these, only 196 required a health report. The institution emphasized that there is no age-based requirement. Instead, a report may be requested only in cases where suspicion arises about the person’s ability to carry out the legal transaction safely.

The Directorate also underlined its ongoing commitment to efficiency, security, and transparency in title deed services. Their message was clear: citizens should not worry about unnecessary obstacles, and the system is designed to protect both individual rights and the integrity of the land registry.
