Dollar rises gold falls on Istanbul Stock Exchange in week ending Sept 16th

Dolllar goes up on Istanbul Stock Exchange

It was profitable for those with investment in dollar this week whereas those with money in stocks and gold lost. BIST 100 index (Istanbul Stock Exchange) index closed at 107.741.70 pounds with a loss of 0.65 percent week on week. In the same period, the BIST Financial Index reached 116.291.99 with 0.60 percent gain and the Technology Index increased by 1.88 percent to 116.291.99 points while Banking Index rose by 0.82 percent to 176.699.92 points.

The most valuable companies of Istanbul Stock Exchange were listed as Garanti Bank with TL 44 billion 352 million, Koç Holding with TL 44 billion 251 million 420 thousand and Akbank with TL 40 billion 920 million.

The price of grams of 24-carat gold bullion traded in Grand Bazaar decreased by 1.15 percent this week to TL 146.30 and the selling price of “Cumhuriyet gold” fell to 979 liras by 1.11 percent.

In the free market, the dollar and euro closed the week with gains. The selling price of the dollar increased by 0.79 to 3,4350 liras, and the selling price of euro rose to 4,1120 liras with a gain of 0,24%.

The selling price of the British pound which was 4.5070 Turkish liras last week increased by 3.73 percent to 4.6750 Turkish liras.

This week private pension funds went up by 0.16 percent and mutual funds by 0.14 percent. According to the categories, the money market funds were the ones that earned the most among the mutual funds with 0.24 percent.
