Due to heavy snow schools closed in two districts of Istanbul

Due to heavy snowfall, schools have been closed in Arnavutköy and Esenyurt following a decision by the Istanbul District Governors.
As the snow intensified in several areas of Istanbul, it started affecting daily life. After weather warnings across the city, Istanbul’s northern districts were hit by snow starting from the night before.
In the early hours on the Asian side, snow started covering roads and green spaces in Ümraniye, Beykoz, Kartal, Pendik, and Üsküdar.
On the European side, snow was particularly effective in Beylikdüzü, Esenyurt, and Büyükçekmece, covering roadsides and parked vehicles. In Alkent 2000 neighborhood in Büyükçekmece, some vehicles struggled to go uphill due to the snow.
In Esenyurt, Arnavutköy, and Başakşehir, roads were covered with snow, making driving difficult. As a result of the adverse weather conditions and heavy snowfall, schools were closed in both Esenyurt and Arnavutköy districts.
