CAT AND DOG FOOD PRICE HIKE IN TURKEY

In parallel to prices sky-rocketing in Turkey, cat and dog food prices see two price increases in one week, only. Cat and dog food and accessories were also affected by the record depreciation of the Turkish lira, inflation and, accordingly, hikes in products and services. After the rise in exchange rates, there was a hike in cat-dog food by 30 percent to 40 percent.

A small business-s owner, who runs a petshop in Izmit has stated that there is a raise for every item of the products he sells, and that there are very few products that don’t get a raise, and some products get a raise 2 times within a week.

“SALES FELL BY 30 PERCENT”

Same person shared following as well:

“Our products have received a raise for all items we sell, there are very rare products that have not seen a  price increaseAnd they don’t have a raise of less than 30 percent. There is a hike of about 30 percent, 40 percent. Hikes that come in the first place are hikes that come in cat/dog food. The accessory has just started to get a small raise. Wet food, canned dry food, prize food. There was a strange increase in the food of one supplier group, in particular. That’s why sales, as it were, fell by 25 percent, about 30 percent. With the new month, sales which were already low, fell well along with the dollar-euro exchange rate.”
