GASOLINE PRICES TURKEY

A Japanese person receiving a minimum wage can buy 999 liters of gasoline per month with his income, while a German can buy 1,055 liters, a Polish 528 liters, a Greek 469 liters and a Turkish citizen can buy 284 liters, only.

Gasoline prices are rising all over the world, but when compared with the minimum wage, Turkish citizens use the most expensive gasoline compared to developed countries. A liter of gasoline is currently sold in Turkey at a level of about 0.79 dollars. With this level, the price of a liter of gasoline is below many countries on a dollar basis. In the US, a liter of gasoline costs $ 0.99, and in Germany it is at the level of $ 1.85. In Japan, a liter of gasoline costs about $ 1.43. Car owners in the UK are in a position to buy gasoline at a price approaching $ 2 per liter to fill their tanks.

4 TANKS OF GASOLINE

When the level of gasoline prices is compared on basis of the level of income, a completely different picture emerges. The minimum wage in Turkey has fallen to the level of 225 dollars with the melting of the Turkish lira. When calculation is made about how many liters of gasoline a minimum wage earner can buy with his monthly salary, Turkey ranks far behind other developed European countries, as well as countries such as Bulgaria, Poland, Greece.

Considering a car that takes 65 liters, a minimum wage in Turkey can fill the tank 4.3 times if he works for a month. However, a German citizen can fill up the vehicle’s tank 16.2 times with a minimum wage.

A US citizen on the minimum wage can buy 1,264 liters of gasoline per month with his income, while this figure is 1,055 for a German, 528 for a Polish, 469 for a Greek, and only 284 liters for the minimum wage in Turkey. According to calculations, Turkey is in a position to exceed countries where the minimum wage is not in the same category as Gabon and Chad in the amount of gasoline that it can get with a monthly salary, but not in the same category.
