Economy in Turkey: Cost of living for a family of 4 in Istanbul is 44,561 TL per month
The ‘Cost of Living in Istanbul Study’ by IPA, which is affiliated with the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, has been released.
According to the study, the cost of living in Istanbul increased by 4.62% in September compared to the previous month and by 61.47% compared to December of the previous year.
In September, the average cost of living for a family of four in Istanbul was calculated as 44,561 Turkish Lira.
Thus, the average cost of living in Istanbul increased by 1,968 Turkish Lira compared to August.
Significant increases were observed in meat and minced meat products, with an annual increase of 117.10%. One of the most striking price increases in commonly used household items was hair care products, with an increase rate of 183.33%, according to the research.
