Economy in Turkey: Istanbul inflation hits a record again
Annual inflation in Istanbul reached 55.32 percent.
According to the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, retail prices in the city increased by 4.44 percent in February, while the monthly increase in wholesale prices was 3.38 percent.
The annual increase in retail was 55.32 percent, and in the wholesale it was 58.39 percent.
Retail prices in Istanbul increased by 13.78 percent monthly and 50.91 percent annually in January. Thus, the inflation record of the last 19 years was broken.
