After the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) released the consumer price index (CPI) data for January, the rent increase rate for February was also announced.

According to TÜİK, inflation in January was 5.03%, while the 12-month inflation average, which determines rent increases, is 56.35%.

How is the February rent increase rate determined?

Rent increases are based on the 12-month average inflation. As of January, rent increases cannot exceed 56.35%. The 25% rent increase cap that had been in place for two years was lifted as of July 1, 2024.
