ERDOGAN AND TURKEY

President Tayyip Erdogan has demanded ‘a little more patience’ from citizens in his holiday message. Earlier, besides the government officials, Devlet Bahceli, the chairman of the MHP, the AKP’s alliance partner, had also asked the public for patience in the face of the cost of life. President Tayyip Erdogan had also said in April that ‘there was a greedy segment that raised prices’ and asked citizens for patience.

Before the holiday, another message of patience came from Erdogan. Referring to the fluctuation in the exchange rate, in his holiday message, Erdogan said: “We see once again the correctness of the choice we made 4 years ago by giving our priority to employment in economy, with every development that has occurred. Of course, we know the effects of the deterioration in the global economy on our country, as well as the difficulties caused by the exchange rate fluctuation and the cost of living in the daily lives of our people. As we overcome these with the measures we have taken and the programs we have implemented, the importance of the opportunities we have and the distance we have traveled will be better understood. I demand stronger support and a little more patience from my nation for the programs we have implemented.”
