Erdoğan attends “Business Forum” in Istanbul

Among all the activities on his extremely busy agenda, it is reported that Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended Turkey-Kazakhstan Trade and Investment Forum organized by Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) in Istanbul.

The two countries are known to have developed their relations substantially in the last decade. At the forum, the  two countries signed several trade agreements worth $2.4 billion in total.

PM Erdoğan delivered a speech to participants and emphasized  the significance of President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s visit and talks held in Ankara.

Erdoğan said “The foreign trade volume between Turkey and Kazakhstan is $ 4 billion and our target is a $ 10 billion foreign trade volume by 2015 at the latest”  and commented that the 2 day meetings with Kazakhstan was a turning point.

PM also referred to special visa arrangememts in effect between 2 countries and expressed that hoped the 30 day visa exemption to be increased to 90 days.

In reply President Nazarbayev mentioned Turkey was the first country to recognize Kazakhstan when his country declared its independence in 1991 and this would never be forgotten
