EU Commission prepares common criteria proposal for travel restrictions to be met by all members
It is reported that the European Commission has prepared proposals for all members to meet common criteria in travel restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen noted in a video message that each country applies different color codes, criteria, quarantine and testing rules and recalled that there were confusion in the travel of citizens of the European Union (EU).
The President said: “We must coordinate these measures and make life easier for Europeans”. Von Der Leyen added that the proposal envisioning common criteria and a color code would provide convenience.
According to the commission’s proposal, the latest situation at EU borders will be reflected on a website, and in all regions the situation will be shown in red, orange and green colors.
