EU leaders postpone important decision on sanction to Turkey until June

EU SUMMIT ABOUT TURKEY

The expectation EU could take a negative decision on Turkey, to include the issue of vaccination in particular did not realize at the EU summit attended by 27 member states.

A statement issued after the summit said that it was in the strategic interest of the EU to create a stable and secure environment in the Eastern Mediterranean and to develop a relationship with Turkey, based on mutual benefit and cooperation.

EU leaders welcomed the recent positive developments in the Eastern Mediterranean, the start of talks between Greece and Turkey and the resumption of negotiations in Cyprus under the auspices of the United Nations (UN).
