European Medicines Agency (EMA) approves 2 new drugs against corona

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has announced its approval for the use of 2 new drugs, Ronapreve and Regkirona, a monoclonal antibody drug for the treatment of the corona virus (Covid-19), for the first time.

A written statement by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) said that the EMA Committee on Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) has approved the use of the drugs Ronapreve and Regkirona, a monoclonal antibody drug for the treatment of Covid-19.

APPROVAL WAS GRANTED FOR THE FIRST TIME

“Ronapreve and Regkirona are the first monoclonal antibody drugs to receive a positive opinion for Covid-19,” the statement said, noting that monoclonal antibody drugs were approved for the first time.

IT WILL BE APPLIED TO EVERYONE OVER THE AGE OF 12

The EMA recommended that Ronapreve, developed by the Swiss company Roche Register GmbH, be used for the treatment of Covid-19 to people weighing at least 40 kilograms and older than 12 years, who do not require additional oxygen and have a high risk of their disease becoming severe.

Regkirona is developed by Celltrion, a South Korean Healthcare Company Ltd and recommended that it be used for the treatment of adult patients with a high risk of severe form of the disease Covid-19.

The EMA noted that it will send its recommendations on both drugs to the European Commission for their legalization.
