Tourism Minister: We have revised our 2021 targets in tourism in an upward direction

Negotiations on the 2022 central Government Budget and the 2020 final Account Law Proposal are continuing with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the budgets of affiliated organizations. Minister of Culture and Tourism Ersoy has made a presentation to the deputies.

During his presentation Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy said “we have revised our initial target of 25 million tourists and $ 20 billion revenue up to 28 million tourists and $ 22 billion revenue thanks to the successful work carried out.”

He went on to say, “In 2002, we had a total of 804 thousand 153 beds in 9 thousand 896 accommodation facilities, whereas the number of facilities we now have has reached 13 thousand 140 and the number of beds has gone up to 1 million 619 thousand 447 as of October 2021.”
